Game of Thrones MMPORG To Come Out This Summer

Game of Thrones has easily become one of the most famous things in the world of television. Truly this work of art by D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, adapted from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, was a good idea. While this show premiered on HBO in 2011, it’s amazing how famous it has become in the year that has passed. Its fourth season is going to air yet again this 2014, and man is everyone thrilled.

The TV show’s setting is in Westeros and Essol (fictional continents) during a summer that lasted for ten years. There are a lot of plots in the story – one of which is war between noble houses. Yet another one is the threat of mythical creatures from the North, as well as winter. Another plot is an old dynasty’s reclamation of its throne. The series has so much to do with social hierarchy, corruption, crime, sexuality, war and religion, and the ambiguous characters mainly epitomize these issues. For fans of fantasy, Game of Thrones is heaven-sent and indeed a work of art and beauty.

Game of Thrones already has so many fan bases on the Internet, and its most recent development is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) by Bigpoint (also the developer of Drankensang and Battlestar Galactica). The game- Seven Kingdoms, as expected, is mostly based on the TV series. There are seven kingdoms just like in Westeros, thus the new MMPORG’s name. The player gets to experience just as what the characters in the TV series experience.

The game is going to be for free. It can be played on the browser; its premiere will be at San Diego Comic-Con on July 12 to July 15 of this year. Bigpoint tells the fans to be excited about the game. They claim to have had a hard time choosing a name, but eventually they decided on Seven Kingdoms because as an identifiable name, it will be like an irresistible inside joke for them Game of Thrones fans. The game is expected to be played by fans all over the world, and man are these players lucky because the game will be of no charge.

In the game, King Robert Baratheon and Net Stark have just died, thus provoking the northern Starks to declare war against the south. Players are expected to form alliances and fight for control over the whole of Westeros.

The whole Game of Thrones fan community, especially those who are also MMORPG fans as well, can’t wait for summer as this game will be released and will be officially available for playing.
